voc2021 ep: 36 Daniel Kimbro

A recent “Artist Interview” with bassist Daniel Kimbro from the Jerry Douglas Band. Daniel’s father is renowned (and published) light tackle fisherman Shawn Kimbro of Stevensville on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Daniel Kimbro came to town recently to perform shows at the Rams Head Onstage in Annapolis and the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA with the Jerry Douglas Band. Douglas and company recently recorded a new album in collaboration with acclaimed singer and songwriter John Hiatt. In this interview, Daniel talks about his musical family upbringing around the TVA Lakes region in Tennessee, his musical education, and various current projects he’s involved in, including the making of a new album with Hiatt. “He’s got a story that’s 20 miles long!” I joined the guys in dad’s fishing shack while they prepared a delicious meal of Chesapeake Bay rockfish they caught earlier in the day.
